Your data
Updated on 13 October 2026
Theek Karo is an independent civic tool, not a government service.
It is run by Lucky For Bharat.
For any question about your data, write to our grievance officer.
We never ask for your home address or any ID, and a complaint never needs your name. A name shows only if you choose one for the karma leaderboard, and you can take it off any time.
We use your data only for these purposes, because you chose to send a complaint. We do not sell it, and there are no ads.
Never public: your number, your note, the original photo and the exact spot.
Karma points are counted against the same anonymous code as your complaints (from your phone on the website, or from your WhatsApp number), never your number itself.
The leaderboard is opt-in. You appear on it only if you choose a name (on WhatsApp, or in My complaints on the website), with your points, your level and how many of your complaints got fixed. You can hide it any time, and our team can hide a name that breaks the rules.
On WhatsApp, send DELETE and your points and your name are erased. On the website, Hide my name takes your name off the board at once; the points stay with your phone's anonymous code.
The officer responsible gets an email with the exact spot (so they can find it), the photo with faces blurred, and your words. They never get your number, your name or anything else that shows who you are.
If the problem stays unfixed, we send its public link to the area's councillor, MLA or MP.
A complaint about an official or a civic worker (a bribe asked, staff who never came, rude or threatening behaviour, a complaint marked fixed when it wasn't) is private. It is never on the map or any public page.
Only our team reads it. If it needs action, we send what happened (your words, the place and time, and any photo you added) to the vigilance or grievance officer of that department. Your number, and anything else that shows who you are, is never shared with them or anyone else.
Send DELETE on WhatsApp and the complaint stays with our team without your number, and its photo is deleted.
We use these companies to run Theek Karo. Each gets only what its job needs:
Your browser also loads map pictures from OpenFreeMap, a bot check from Cloudflare when you send something, and cookie-free visit counts from Vercel.
So some of your data is stored or handled outside India, in Singapore and the USA.
The public complaint (blurred photo, the problem, the rough spot and what happened) stays up as a public record. It never shows who sent it.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

We reply within 7 days, and settle every grievance within 90 days at most, as the DPDP Rules, 2025 require. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Theek Karo is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to send the complaint for you. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Version 2026-10-13.
