The escalation chain
For a problem in an MCD ward, the chain above the field officer is:
- The ward's field officer: Sanitation Superintendent, Assistant Engineer or Junior Engineer, depending on the problem.
- The zone's Deputy Commissioner, who oversees every office in the zone.
- Your ward councillor, who sits on the MCD and its ward committee.
- Your MLA, who represents the assembly constituency in the Delhi Assembly.
- Your MP, who represents the Lok Sabha constituency.
What makes a complaint hard to ignore
- A clear photo taken at the spot, with the exact location.
- One complaint per problem, sent to the post that is actually responsible.
- A complaint number and dated record of every reminder.
- Neighbours confirming they see it too.
- A public page anyone can open, so the delay is visible.
How Theek Karo does it for you
A complaint filed on Theek Karo is emailed to the responsible post with the photo and location. If there is no fix, reminders go out from day 3, a senior officer is told on day 7, and the councillor, MLA and MP are told on days 14, 21 and 30. Every step is shown on the complaint's public page, and when the officer says it is fixed, people nearby can confirm whether it really is. If a fix doesn't hold, the complaint can be reopened.
If it is dangerous
An open manhole, a live wire or a fallen tree on a road is an emergency. Call 112 first, then report it so the fix is tracked.
